Bon Echo and Murphy's Point

Well...that was fun.  Casey and I ventured out with new equipment to Bon Echo and Murphy's Point Provincial Park.

Day 1

Left Arnprior about 3:30 pm.  Arrived at Bon Echo at 5:00.  Our campsite for night one was a walk-in site in the Hardwood Hill Campground (site # 415).  Mosquitoes were out and Casey felt they were "bad", but she didn't bring pants.  Life lesson I guess.

Set-up camp; tent and sleeping gear.  Started a fire and ate our dinner, which consisted of the finest canned goods (Zoodles) and desert (good ol' Snack Pack puddin' - chocolate).

We sat and watched the fire and sunset between the trees and headed off to bed at 9:30 pm.  Slept in just our bag liners until 11:30 pm when it got cold.  Both Casey and I got into our sleeping bags and enjoyed the warmth of our first nights slumber.

Day 2

Up at 5:30 am.  I was just to exited to stay in bed any more.  Casey slept.  Started an early morning fire to get things going and took a few shots of the sun coming up; again through the trees.  Made myself a coffee and let Casey sleep a little.

Casey awoke at 7:00 and we had instant oatmeal for breakfast and granola bars.  Tang to wash it down.  After breakfast we broke camp and we were off for our hike along a portion the Abes & Essens Trail.  We planned on checking out the first few campsites at Essens Lake for future trips.
